Patricia "Pat" Rogers

I’m a 76 year old handicapped woman who has been writing since high school and who finally decided it was time to try publishing.  This just shows that when you enjoy doing something, age doesn’t matter.  I write fiction, poetry and songs.  I don’t write the music for my songs because I don’t know beans about that but I know how it sounds, in my head, and often do them as specials at church.  I also crochet, tat, do embroidery, and make jewelry.  I drive a 1985 Chevy van so I can go just about anywhere, and any time, I want to.  I’ve always been up beat but I am a cry baby over sad movies and books.  I love to learn how to do new things.  I’ve been handicapped since 1946 but have never felt that I could just about anything I wanted to.  I worked almost 18 years as one of the first two handicapped people, in the nation, as a corrections officer in the county jail in Greeley, Colorado. Always be positive.  If you like to write, do so.  Words are only a concept, in your mind, until you share.

Lady One Horn’s Champion

Tris Carter Horne had dreamed of a beautiful girl with hair like flame and eyes of emerald green all his life. When he had grown, the dreams became nightmares so horrifying that he was afraid to sleep. Then the dreams became real, and he found himself battling a creature so savage it was beyond belief. Suddenly, he found himself falling down a brilliant corridor and heard the creature scream in pain. Then there was nothing but darkness. When he woke, he found himself in a strange land. What had happened, and was he safe? Would he see more of the creatures that attacked him? Suddenly, he was afraid. Very afraid.
